If you get a Tourist visa that is good for 10yrs, will you still have to visit consular before next trip?

ok say I get my tourist visa which is valid for 10yrs.....I can only stay in this country for 90-180max per year.....once I return from my first trip, and want to go back for a second visit, do I have to go back to the consular OR can I just get on a flight and leave since my visa is still valid for 9 more years?
