Does get fillings hurt?

I went to the dentist this morning for a check up and I have to get 3 fillings I have read on the internet it doesn't hurt at all and everyone is telling me that but I am still a bit worried! Anybody that has had them could you please tell me the procedure and what it feels like? Thanks
