If i got denied from applying tourist visa and planning to file for a fiancee visa, would it be a problem?

i got denied from applying tourist visa last november 2010 and now i'm planning to apply for a fiancee visa with my boyfriend, would the us embassy or the consular officer allow us or would that be a problem? if it is, then for how long should we wait to apply for that without creating any doubts with them?
