I went to the dentist around 3 hours ago and had a filling...?

He said I had 3 fillings. Well, bits of amalgam have been falling out and a big chunk came out a bit ago. Now when I look in my mouth I see 1 filling and it's just a chip sticking out of the top of one of my teeth. Is this normal?
